A Summary of IPMI 2023 Reflecting on Valuable Insights from the Conference
July 31, 2023
With another successful year of the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI) conference finalised, I have taken a moment to reflect on the valuable lessons learned and the key takeaways from the event. Discover more about my experience at IPMI, plus some valuable insights I have brought back to the team.
Why did I attend IPMI 2023?
IPMI is the world’s largest parking and mobility conference. For this reason, it brings together people and businesses from around the globe to discuss innovation and changes in how we move to and from our destinations, making it a hub for obtaining some of the most up-and-coming dialogue in the industry. By attending IPMI in the past, I have gained the ability to better predict Australian market changes and stay ahead of my competition by launching products and services ahead of time. I knew that the 2023 conference would be no exception to this.
Summary of the Event
I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a panellist at the IPMI 2023 conference, where I had the opportunity to address a diverse audience. Being at the forefront of the digital parking revolution in Australia, I shared insights and guidance on how parking professionals can enhance their operations and embrace innovative technologies. The event also allowed me to highlight the progress made in Australia and the valuable lessons that can be applied globally to ensure parking and mobility remain up to date in the ever-changing markets.
The three biggest trends/takeaways from the event for me were:
- Australian & NZ parking tech is world-leading. We bat above our average.
- The US market moving towards apps moving away from pay stations and exit booths
- There is going to be a war for Kerbside space as cities try to solve how they get parking, ride share, car share, freight and pedestrian access
Key Learnings and Market Trends
In addition to sharing knowledge with attendees, IPMI offered an ideal platform for me to gain deeper insights into the US market. This presented an invaluable opportunity to explore current market trends and discover new technologies that UbiPark can leverage. Armed with this newfound understanding, UbiPark is now better equipped to enhance its service suite, paving the way for ambitious global expansion plans.
I also recognised the importance of the conversations had at IPMI with our recent collaboration with ProParking. Having gained a comprehensive understanding of the US market and its unique demands, UbiPark is now able to accelerate the digital parking movement, bolstered by its partnership with ProParking.
Attending IPMI 2023 has allowed me to gain essential market insights and understand the specific needs of the US parking industry. This knowledge will guide me and my team in providing tailored solutions that will transform parking experiences for businesses and customers alike.
